Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: McMinnville, Oregon
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Radiation Therapy Manager and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Radiation Therapist is responsible for providing radiation treatments to patients exactly as prescribed by the physician, following established standards and clinical practices.
This position involves highly confidential work, high-level critical thinking, and the capability to collaborate seamlessly with a dedicated Radiation Oncology team.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Treatment Delivery: Administer accurate radiation treatments to patients in accordance with prescription parameters, safety standards, and established clinical guidelines.
- Collaboration & Communication: Facilitate a compassionate and effective exchange of information with patients, family members, the internal radiation oncology treatment team, and outside entities.
- Healthcare Informatics Management: Utilize modern computers, information/communication systems, and clinical guidelines to accurately acquire, store, and retrieve patient data.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a rock-solid understanding of radiation safety principles, strictly adhering to current rules and regulations from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and other governing regulatory agencies.
- Independent Problem Solving: Apply high-level critical thinking to navigate daily departmental workflows, operating independently when required while maintaining alignment with team goals.
Education & Skills
- Education: Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy (or equivalent) required.
- Certification: Radiation Therapy Certification required (must be active and in good standing).
- Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Technical Preferences: Experience with Aria, Eclipse Treatment Planning, and Phillips CT software is highly preferred.
