Job Overview
A leading academic healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Senior Interventional Radiology Technologist to support both Body and Neuro Interventional Radiology services. This role is based in San Francisco and requires flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekday, evening, weekend, and on-call coverage. Call duties are compensated at 50% pay.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both inpatient and outpatient acute care settings and be comfortable supporting advanced IR procedures in a collaborative, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform advanced interventional radiology procedures for Body and Neuro IR services
• Support both circulating and scrub roles during procedures as needed
• Participate in lead or coordinator-level responsibilities within the department
• Assist with annual performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance/radiation safety activities
• Help train and mentor staff in advanced procedural competencies
• Maintain flexibility to support multiple medical center locations as required
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure patient safety, procedural accuracy, and compliance with departmental protocols
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology experience
• 3-5 years of healthcare experience in an acute care environment
• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
• Experience supporting Body and Neuro IR procedures
• Ability to work rotating schedules, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments
• Willingness to work at multiple clinical locations as needed
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced procedural setting
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
Required Certifications/Licensure
• ARRT Certification
• California CRT Licensure
• BLS (CPR) Certification
• VIR Certification required within 1 year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
• Recent acute care hospital experience
• Existing VIR Certification
• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient procedural settings
• Prior experience in high-volume interventional radiology departments
