Director of SQA
We are seeking a Director of SQA who combines both technical proficiency and strategic vision to lead our quality assurance efforts. In this role, you will ensure that our software products consistently meet and exceed the high standards expected by both industry and client requirements.
As the Director of SQA, you will manage a large team of over 40-60 QA engineers, working directly with the VP to optimize and refine our QA processes. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement in our methodologies, enhancing both product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage effective quality assurance strategies and systems for accurate issue tracking and resolution.
- Lead, mentor, and support the QA team, promoting a culture of excellence and alignment with industry best practices for software testing.
- Champion initiatives to expand the use of automated testing and integrate advanced testing tools and frameworks into our development processes.
- Define and categorize software defects, performance issues, usability concerns, and other criteria as part of a comprehensive issue classification system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of QA processes with Agile development, operations, and customer service functions.
- Regularly evaluate and improve testing protocols, procedures, and metrics to adapt to evolving technologies and business goals.
- Proactively monitor software quality, identifying potential issues before they impact clients or internal operations.
- Maintain open and clear communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on QA progress and advocating for necessary resources and improvements.
- Uphold the highest quality and security standards in all QA practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a Software QA environment.
- 12+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 5-8 years in a leadership role managing large QA teams.
- Proven expertise in developing and executing comprehensive QA strategies across both manual and automated testing environments.
- Extensive experience with QA tools and frameworks, including Selenium, qTest, Azure, , JMeter, and Appium.
- Deep understanding of Agile software development and QA lifecycle.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform risk assessments, root cause analysis, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in team training, mentorship, and development.
- Mist be Bilingual (Spanish and English)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
