 Job Description:

Foreground is partnering with a private Omani industrial and infrastructure group to appoint a high-impact, analytically rigorous Director of Strategy & Transformation, to be based at their Muscat headquarters. The role comes as the group embarks on a multi-year transformation journey to realign its diversified businesses, spanning EPC, energy services, and logistics, with the Sultanates Vision 2040 goals and regional competitiveness benchmarks.

Role Purpose

To lead the groups corporate strategy office and transformation program management function setting strategic direction, overseeing execution, and ensuring all initiatives align with the companys redefined operating model, capital priorities, and national impact objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the execution of the groups five-year strategy, including strategic portfolio reviews, diversification plans, and M&A roadmaps.
  • Oversee transformation initiatives across operating companies from organizational restructuring and shared services rollout to ERP deployment and cost leadership programs.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and performance measurement of transformation projects, ensuring delivery against strategic KPIs, timelines, and ROI targets.
  • Support executive leadership in defining investment theses, risk models, and capital allocation frameworks.
  • Act as internal advisor to the Group CEO and board committees, delivering insight on market shifts, regulatory changes, and competitor benchmarks.
  • Produce decision-ready materials including board papers, investment decks, internal strategy playbooks, and steering committee updates.
  • Oversee the development and institutionalization of a project management office (PMO) to support strategic initiative tracking and execution discipline.
  • Manage external advisory engagements and support integration of new capabilities across entities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 12-15 years of experience in corporate strategy, transformation, or management consulting, including at least 5 years within GCC-based groups or family offices.
  • Proven success leading group-level transformation programs, preferably in capital-intensive sectors (infrastructure, energy, logistics).
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business Administration; MBA from a top-tier school is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with organizational design, turnaround planning, financial modeling, and board engagement.
  • Strong understanding of the Omani market landscape, public-private initiatives, and national development frameworks.

  • Executive maturity and boardroom credibility; trusted by CEOs and respected by delivery teams.
  • Structured thinker with the ability to synthesize complexity into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Balanced strategist-operator: equally confident in Excel and in the field.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic preferred, especially for stakeholder engagement with government and regulatory entities.
