Cost Estimation Engineer
Job Description:
Our client is a leading Integrated Facility Management Company that provides customized facility solutions and services to diversified facilities such as commercial, industrial, educational, residential, and healthcare.
Our client is looking to appoint a skilled Cost Estimation Engineer to join their growing team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Study tender documents including drawings, project specifications, BOQ, scope of work, contract details and conditions, and prepare tender study reports by analyzing scope of work.
- Study tender BOQ, quantities take off, liaise with suppliers and internal departments to get competitive quotations.
- Implement tender strategy as communicated by the Contracts and Tender Manager.
- Liaise with internal departments to establish execution / method statements and reflect the same in estimation.
- Establish direct cost resources required to execute various activities.
- Prepare man-hour calculations for various activities.
- Prepare technical clarifications to client for discrepancies in tender documents after reviewing and incorporating the changes after response.
- Participate in pre-tender meetings, site visits and report on them to analyze the scope of work.
- Analyze vendor technical and commercial offers in view of project specifications and standards, and prepare tender proposals independently (commercial and technical).
- Prepare comparative statements to analyze and select the most appropriate solutions for proposals, as well as bid documents that include commercial and technical submittals.
- Collect all technical data sheets, specifications, drawings, and compile in line with tender documents to prepare bid submission.
- Prepare and coordinate post tender technical clarifications and commercial as well.
- Support Management with post tender negotiations/clarifications with clients when required.
- Support the operations and procurement teams after award and in the initial phase of the project.
- Analyze and evaluate market quotations technically and commercially.
- Prepare detailed costing by studying project documents.
- Preparation of Bill of Quantities from drawings.
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience within the Qatari market is a must (suppliers & sub-contractors).
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the FM sector.
- Fluency in Arabic is highly desirable.
- Ability to prepare quick estimates using minimum available documents.
