Crew Control Officer

Crew Control manages flight-deck and cabin-crew rosters in real time. You take over from Crew Planning at handover and run the roster inside the 0–72-hour window and through the day of operations, keeping every crew assignment deliverable and FTL-compliant against the schedule as it actually flies. When disruption hits — sickness, delays, diversions, AOG, last-minute changes — you're the person who reworks the crew solution and keeps the operation moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage crew rosters in real time across the 0–72-hour window and the day of operations, in line with the Operations Manual Part A
• Continuously monitor flights for FTL, qualification, medical and crew-cover warnings; resolve routine issues independently and escalate significant ones without delay
• Source and assign replacement crew when a crew member becomes unavailable — verifying qualification, FTL and rest in Leon before every assignment, and activating standby/reserve within policy limits
• Reassess crew legality on any delay, diversion or operational change, and support Commander's discretion by providing the PIC with accurate, objective duty data
• Arrange crew logistics — positioning, hotel accommodation and ground transport — to protect minimum rest and operational readiness
• Verify crew nationality, visa and transit requirements before confirming positionings
• Keep crew qualification, availability and duty data accurate in Leon, and ensure a clean, complete handover between shifts and departments for audit traceability
• Report any non-conformity to the Direct Manager

Authority and limits

• Authorized to reassign crew, activate standby/reserve and arrange crew logistics within FTL and policy limits — simple replacements independently, complex cases with team-lead approval
• No authority to dispatch or cancel a flight, and no influence over in-flight decisions. A crew-driven flight delay or cancellation rests jointly with the Duty Manager and Crew Control/Planning Manager; the discretion to extend a flight duty period rests solely with the Commander
• Reports to, and escalates through Direct Manager

Requirements

• High level of computer literacy and database skills; experience with Leon (or a comparable crew-management system) is an advantage
• Working knowledge of EASA flight time limitations (OM-A)
• Ability to make sound decisions under time pressure and manage competing priorities in a live operational environment
• Fluent English, spoken and written, with strong communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to hold accuracy under operational pressure
• Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Aviation crew-control or operations experience preferred
