About the job Safety Officer
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
We are looking for a Safety Officer (permanent employment) to join our Maintenance Organization.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Degree or diploma in Aviation Safety, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related technical discipline
- Relevant experience or strong motivation to build a career in aviation safety, quality assurance, or compliance within a Part-145 environment
- Direct involvement in implementing or supporting a Safety Management System (SMS) in an EASA-regulated organization, under the supervision of a Safety Manager
- Strong understanding (or motivation to develop understanding) of EASA Part-145, Part-M/CAMO, and related compliance requirements
- Working knowledge of ICAO SMS principles and EU regulations related to safety oversight
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and identify practical mitigations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to promote a strong safety culture
- Proficiency in written and spoken English (additional languages are an asset)
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive safety information
- Strong organizational and report-writing skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and related software tools
- Eligibility to work in Sofia, Bulgaria
- Willingness to travel occasionally for safety-related meetings or investigations (if required)
Considered an Advantage
- Completed training in Safety Management Systems (SMS) in accordance with EASA and ICAO Annex 19 standards
- Human Factors, Occurrence Reporting, and Risk Management training (up to date)
- Experience in occurrence investigation, root cause analysis, or safety data analysis
- Familiarity with Centrik or similar safety/compliance management software
