About the job Airline Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Engineer
The Airline Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of an airline's fleet. The MCC Engineer is responsible for monitoring the real-time technical status of the airline's aircraft and coordinating maintenance activities to resolve any issues that may arise during operations.
Role Overview:
The MCC Engineer works within the Maintenance Control Center and serves as the technical authority during live operations. Their primary function is to provide immediate technical support and guidance to flight crews and maintenance teams, ensuring that all aircraft are airworthy and any technical issues are promptly addressed. The MCC Engineer must have a deep understanding of aircraft systems(A320 Family with CFM56 and V2500 Engines), regulatory requirements, and maintenance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Real-time Monitoring: Continuously monitor the technical status of the airline's fleet, identifying potential issues and ensuring they are addressed before they impact operations
- Technical Support: Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support to flight crews and maintenance teams to resolve aircraft issues efficiently.
- Coordination: Liaise with maintenance teams, engineering departments, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate the necessary actions to rectify aircraft issues.
- Documentation: Ensure that all technical incidents, maintenance activities, and corrective actions are accurately documented in the appropriate systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance actions comply with aviation regulations, company policies, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the airline's operations control center, flight crews, and maintenance teams regarding technical issues.
- Incident Management: Manage and coordinate the response to in-flight technical incidents, ensuring safety and minimal disruption to operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in the analysis of technical issues to identify trends and recommend improvements to maintenance procedures or aircraft systems.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, avionics, and maintenance procedures, typically gained through a degree in aerospace engineering or a related field, and several years of hands-on experience.
- Certification: Valid aircraft maintenance engineering license ( EASA Part 66, FAA A&P) is often required.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, maintenance teams, and flight crews.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with aviation regulations and industry standards, including knowledge of regulatory authorities such as the FAA, EASA, and local aviation bodies.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and respond effectively to unexpected situations.
- Experience: Prior experience in an MCC or similar role within the aviation industry is highly desirable.
