About the job CAMO Senior Engineer
The CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) Senior Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the ongoing airworthiness of an airline's fleet. This position requires a deep understanding of aircraft maintenance, regulatory requirements, and continuing airworthiness processes. The CAMO Senior Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the technical and regulatory aspects of the fleet's maintenance to ensure safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Continuing Airworthiness Management:
- Ensure that the fleet complies with all continuing airworthiness requirements as per national and international regulations (EASA Part M, FAA, etc.).
- Oversee the development and management of maintenance programs, reliability programs, and modifications.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of required continuing airworthiness documentation and reports to the relevant authorities.
2. Technical Leadership:
- Lead a team of engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and support in managing the fleet's airworthiness.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure the highest standards of maintenance and airworthiness are maintained.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical issues, offering expertise in resolving complex engineering challenges.
3. Maintenance Program Development:
- Design and maintain aircraft maintenance schedules and plans, ensuring they align with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
- Implement improvements to maintenance programs based on reliability data, engineering orders, and service bulletins.
4. OASES (Open Aviation Strategic Engineering System) Management:
- Utilize OASES software for managing the technical records, planning maintenance, and tracking fleet airworthiness.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of the OASES system, optimizing its use to support the organization's needs.
- Provide training and support to team members on OASES functionalities and best practices.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations, including EASA Part M and FAA regulations.
- Interface with aviation authorities and regulatory bodies, ensuring the timely submission of reports and documentation.
- Manage audits and inspections by regulatory authorities, ensuring all findings are addressed promptly.
6. Fleet Management:
- Oversee the technical performance of the airlines fleet, including monitoring aircraft reliability and performance trends.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as operations and maintenance, to ensure aircraft availability and operational readiness.
- Manage aircraft configuration control and ensure all modifications and repairs are correctly documented.
7. Project Management:
- Lead and manage engineering projects related to fleet upgrades, modifications, and other technical improvements.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
8. Training and Development:
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Provide training and development opportunities to the team, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest industry standards and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and continuing airworthiness management.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a CAMO environment.
- Extensive knowledge of EASA Part M, FAA regulations, and other relevant international airworthiness standards.
- Proficiency in OASES (Open Aviation Strategic Engineering System) software is essential.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with other fleet management or maintenance software systems.
- Experience working with various aircraft types and models.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or aviation management is a plus.
Work Environment:
- The role is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to maintenance facilities, regulatory meetings, and conferences as required.
- The CAMO Senior Engineer must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, ensuring the highest standards of airworthiness and safety are maintained.
