The firm is seeking an experienced Consultant Relations professional to expand and strengthen existing consultant relationships and drive new consultant mandates. The role requires deep industry relationships, strong sales skills, and expertise in alternatives, particularly across private credit, private equity, and real assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultant Coverage & Relationship Management: Build, expand, and maintain deep relationships with key institutional investment consultants, ensuring the firms solutions are well-positioned in consultant research and recommended to institutional investors.
  • Institutional Business Development: Partner with institutional business development to drive new mandates and expand consultant-driven asset flows across plan sponsors, financial advisors, endowments, foundations, etc.
  • Market & Product Positioning: Articulate the firms investment philosophy, portfolio construction approach, and strategy differentiators to consultants and institutional clients.
  • Sales & Distribution Strategy: Leverage a strong consultant network to increase visibility and drive institutional adoption of the firms alternative investment strategies.
  • Industry Representation: Attend and present at industry conferences and institutional investor events to enhance firm presence and strengthen key relationships.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with investment, product, legal, and marketing teams to support RFP/DDQ responses and refine messaging for institutional audiences.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis: Track industry trends, consultant recommendations, and asset allocation shifts to identify opportunities for the firms strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in institutional sales or investment management, with a minimum of 5 years covering consultants.
  • Extensive industry relationships with a well-established consultant Rolodex.
  • A strong sales acumen and proven history of generating consultant approvals for alternatives strategies and translating those approvals into commitments.
  • Deep knowledge of alternative investments, particularly in private credit, private equity, and real assets, as well as institutional portfolio construction.
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage senior decision-makers.
  • Highly collaborative, team-first mentality with the ability to work cross-functionally and contribute to firm-wide goals.
  • Strong work ethic, persistence, and a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage complex, long-term sales cycles and build sustainable consultant relationships.
  • MBA preferred; candidates with CFA or CAIA designations also considered.
