Position Title: Portfolio Manager (PM)

Reports To: Senior Portfolio Director- US
About The Role
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for underwriting and directly managing individual loans to US Corporates. From time to time, the PM will be assigned certain projects and other responsibilities at the direction of the Country Head and Portfolio Director.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that new credit proposals and amendments to existing loans are adequately analyzed and presented in accordance with COMPANY policy
- Manage the closing of new and modified credit facilities
- Ensure that the risk profile of each assigned Borrower is adequately reflected by its Risk Grade
- and any required changes are made on a timely basis
- Provide ongoing financial analysis of assigned Borrowers to ensure that changes to the risk.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Principal Responsibility No. 1 - Underwriting
- Working with RMs in initial screening, including the preparation of spreads, risk grading, identification of risks, construction of the approval path, and assisting IBG Support and the RMs in the calculation of ROEs.
- Diligence the Borrowers background, financial position, business model, industry, and competitive position, as well as the identification of risks and mitigants.
- A thorough review of any proposed loan structure to ensure that it appropriately protects the Firm given the identified business risks.
- Preparation of concise credit memorandum that clearly communicates the lending rationale, business risks and structural considerations.
- Perform appropriate review of loan documentation and co-ordination of closing tasks among CCU and the Loan Operations team. This responsibility includes ensuring prompt compliance with all COMPANY underwriting requirements.
Principal Responsibility No. 2 - Monitoring and Compliance
- Perform ongoing analysis of Borrowers business and financial profile. Key financial metrics and any items that materially impact the Borrowers risk profile must be tracked in a central location and be accessible to the RM and local Management.
- Monitor your assigned Borrowers to ensure appropriateness of Risk Grades.
- Work with CCU and Loan Operations team to ensure assigned Borrowers remain in compliance with terms of credit.
- Complete Supervision and Group Reviews on assigned Borrowers. This involves proactive communication with RM and local management to ensure adequate lead time to ensure review and approval on a timely basis.
- Ensuring the maintenance of credit files (both electronic and physical) in an orderly manner consistent with Firm policy.
- Assist with special projects that may arise from time-to-time.
Experience
- At minimum, prior 5 years of experience in banking/finance
- Ability to work effectively with different groups
- Independent and motivated, team player
- Strong writing and communication skills
Education I Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Work Relationships
- The Portfolio Managers Superiors will include the Senior Portfolio Director, the Country CEO, and Group Head.
- Internal Peers will include Credit, Legal, Compliance and Operations staff, along with staff throughout the firms international branch network, especially in Asia.
- External Peers will include Agent financial institutions, firm clients, legal counsel, and auditors.
