About the Job
The Business Development Group at Our Client is responsible for raising capital, fostering key relationships, and building the brand through multi-channel distribution efforts across national/wirehouse firms, regional independent broker-dealers, and registered investment advisors (RIAs). The Business Development Group is seeking an accomplished and dynamic executive to lead capital raise efforts in the United States. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales leadership, with a proven track record of success in the region.
In this role, the ideal candidate will accelerate sales growth of investment products by facilitating expanded access to top-producing financial advisor teams and key home-office/field-level centers of influence (COIs) across national/wirehouse firms, regional independent broker-dealers, and RIAs. The candidate is expected to cultivate relationships with the most influential wealth management leaders and producers in the industry. This position entails close collaboration with other C-suite level executives at Our Client to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overarching business objectives. Ideally, the candidate will be based in a major city within the Western United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize top-down (i.e., COI) and bottom-up (i.e., financial advisor) relationships in the Western region.
- Identify key business opportunities and provide strategic support to Regional Directors in enhancing connectivity, driving sales, and fostering brand loyalty.
- Facilitate connections between Regional Directors and prominent financial advisor teams (AUM $1B+) through strategic in-person visits to territories and meetings at home offices.
- Organize and host high-end events aimed at top-producing financial advisors and COIs to further showcase Our Client's offerings.
- Collaborate with National Accounts and create opportunities to cultivate business at all levels within focus firms.
- Work with sales management to enhance and identify training needs and coaching opportunities for the sales team.
- Solicit input from Regional Directors, National Accounts, and financial advisors to develop strategies to improve sales, support, and education across all channels.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of Wealth Management, Private Wealth Management, or Asset Management sales and relationship management experience, with a minimum of 10 years of management experience in the Western United States.
- Series 7, 63 licensing required. Ability to obtain Series 65 and 24 licensing.
- CIMA, CAIA, or CFA a plus.
- Executive presence with the ability to effectively represent the company and build the brand.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region as required.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business acumen and demonstrate proficiency in general business disciplines.
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory (FINRA, SEC, etc.) rules.
- Strong verbal communication skills and solid presentation skills.
- Superior relationship management skills.
- Ability to synthesize and present complex information in a way that ensures understanding.
- Ability to operate and manage comfortably and effectively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed team environment.
- Strong needs-based, consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
