Senior Technical Accountant

OUR CLIENT is a private corporation dedicated to providing U.S. dollar loans to foreign importers for the purchase of U.S.-manufactured equipment. Our financing supports a diverse range of industries, including aviation, energy, telecommunications, and infrastructure, playing a critical role in advancing the success of U.S. exporters.

Established in 1970 with the backing of key U.S. financial institutions and government agencies such as the Department of the Treasury, the Federal Reserve Board, and the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), OUR CLIENT mobilizes private capital to supplement export financing offered by EXIM and other institutions.

About the Position:
OUR CLIENT is currently focused on expanding its balance sheet and pursuing growth opportunities in new markets. To support these initiatives and sustain its existing operations, OUR CLIENT is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join its Finance Department in New York City. This role will be critical in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the Our Client's financial activities and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, accounts payable, and management reporting.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers related to new or existing accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on business initiatives.
  • Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements, interim reports, annual reports, and debt offerings.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in managing internal and external audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience in the financial services industry.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and practices.
  • Experience with hedge accounting, consolidations, and special purpose vehicles (SPVs) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Oracle products and SaaS treasury platforms such as Reval is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
