About the Role:

Our client is seeking a mid-level Counsel, Private Markets to join its legal team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of finance transactional experience, with a broad background in representing various participants in public and private financing transactions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex finance investments across multiple investment vehicles, including BDCs, CLOs, registered investment companies, and private debt funds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support for finance investments, including structuring and negotiating transactions.
• Work directly with the credit desk and external counsel to review, draft, and analyze complex credit documentation.
• Assist with ongoing investment activities, including amendments, consents, and post-closing matters.
• Ensure compliance with finance law regulations while managing deal flow and transaction execution.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a reputable law school with strong academic credentials.
• Admitted to the New York Bar.
• 3-5 years of experience at a large law firm or in-house legal department.
• Strong knowledge of finance law, deal structuring, and transaction management.
• Excellent judgment, work ethic, and high ethical standards.
• A proactive self-starter with a demonstrated commitment to professional growth.
