Job Statement
As the Payroll Coordinator, you will oversee the full-cycle payroll process, including time and attendance approvals, and ensure accurate and timely compensation for all employees.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the full cycle bi-weekly payroll process for salaried and hourly employees (approximately 400).
  • Review time and attendance data using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now or Ceridian software for payroll management.
  • Track vacation, sick leave, and lieu days for all staff.
  • Prepare labor cost reports and detailed payroll reports.
  • Approve timesheets and invoices for agency staff.
  • Administer the employee benefit plan with Canada Life and the company pension plan.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee terminations.
  • Perform various payroll-related tasks and some HR functions as required.

Health and Safety

  • Conduct all job tasks safely and responsibly.
  • Possess knowledge of workplace safety and proper lifting/handling procedures.
  • Participate in all Health and Safety, GMP, and HACCP training sessions as required.
  • Engage in the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or hazardous conditions to your lead hand or supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations, and workplace safety rules, as covered during orientation (section 28 of the OHSA), and adhere to the company's safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and HACCP programs.

Job Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in full cycle payroll, preferably using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and discretion.
  • Strong analytical skills with effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • PCP/CPM designation or working towards a payroll designation.
