The Opportunity
Pencil and Brick is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join its growing architectural team. This role will suit an experienced ARB-registered Architect who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through delivery, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the wider development of a design-led practice.
You will manage multiple residential projects simultaneously, working closely with the Design Team Lead and construction teams to deliver exceptional private residential schemes. This is a long-term career opportunity with clear progression into senior leadership and director-level positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and delivering multiple architectural projects day-to-day
- Coordinating design stages from concept through technical delivery
- Preparing planning and building regulation submissions
- Producing technical drawings, specifications and presentation material
- Supporting construction teams with technical design input
- Leading client interactions and managing project experience
- Mentoring and supporting junior architectural staff
- Collaborating with senior management to improve processes and delivery
Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- ARB registration with minimum 5 years post-registration UK practice experience Strong private residential project experience
- Proven Project Architect experience
- Ability to manage projects independently
- Excellent technical and design coordination skills
- Strong communication and client-facing ability
- Alignment with Pencil and Bricks collaborative, values-led culture
Desirable Experience
- Senior Project Architect experience
- Experience leading small design teams
- Vectorworks experience (or willingness to learn)
- Experience delivering architect-led residential projects end-to-end Comfortable working primarily from the Brick Lane studio (Friday WFH policy)
