About the Role

If you're passionate about designing highways and want to have a tangible impact, this role is for you. As a Highway Engineer, you'll lead design projects from simple access solutions to complex junction improvements. You'll also mentor junior team members and help drive the business forward by developing new client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Highway Design: Lead projects under S278 and S38 agreements, managing everything from basic access designs to complex junction solutions.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Collaborate with regulatory bodies to secure essential design approvals.
  • Team Support: Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping them grow and succeed within the team.
  • Client Development: Play a key role in maintaining and growing client relationships, driving new business opportunities.
  • Project Leadership: Confidently take the lead in delivering projects, ensuring all aspects are completed to a high standard.
  • Design Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of highway design processes, principles, and guidance.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years in highway engineering design or a related consultancy role is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoTrack is a must. Experience with Civils 3D, town planning, and drainage design is a plus.
  • Qualifications: A degree in civil engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Soft Skills: A great team player with a relaxed, approachable personality. You should be confident, proactive, and skilled in building relationships.
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to live and work in the UK, with a valid UK driving licence.
