Job Overview

Thurrock Council is seeking Technical Licensing Officers to support the administration and delivery of housing licensing functions.

The role will involve processing housing and licensing applications, validating documentation, maintaining licensing records, managing enquiries and applications, supporting compliance activity and providing advice to residents, landlords, agents, businesses and other stakeholders.

This is a Technical Licensing Officer / Housing Licensing Administration role.

Candidates should have experience in licensing, regulatory services, housing, environmental health, local authority administration or a similar compliance-focused environment.

Experience with property licensing, HMO licensing, selective licensing or housing enforcement would be highly desirable.

Additional Information

This is a 3-month temporary contract.

Interview will be held online via Microsoft Teams.

Target interview date is 07 October 2026.

Previous local authority, housing licensing, regulatory services or environmental health experience is highly desirable.
