Nexentra Private Limited is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage our overall accounting function while overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) services we deliver to client companies through our Shared Services Finance team. This is a hands-on role combining ownership of Nexentra's own books with supervisory responsibility for a client-facing AP operation.
What You'll Do
Nexentra Accounting
- Manage the full accounting cycle for Nexentra Private Limited, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for management review
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and supported
- Handle statutory compliance requirements, including VAT, SSCL, EPF/ETF, APIT, and other applicable tax filings
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as required
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure audit readiness
- Maintain accurate fixed asset, payroll, and intercompany records
AP Function Oversight (Client Services)
- Oversee the Accounts Payable services delivered to Nexentra's client companies, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all client accounts
- Review and approve supplier cost verifications, invoice matching, and cost confirmation processes carried out by the AP team
- Monitor AP team performance against agreed turnaround times and service standards, escalating gaps or bottlenecks as needed
- Ensure AP processes are correctly documented and consistently followed across all client engagements
- Act as the point of escalation for complex AP queries, discrepancies, or client-specific issues
- Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows, controls, and reporting across the shared services function
- Support onboarding of new client accounts into the AP function, including process setup and team training
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; part or full qualification in a recognized accounting body (CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is an advantage
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally including exposure to shared services, outsourcing, or multi-entity accounting
- Prior experience supervising or reviewing the work of an AP or finance team is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Sri Lankan tax and statutory compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar) and strong Microsoft Excel skills

- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment
