About the job Technical Marketing Manager

To serve as the primary technical authority bridging the gap between Research & Development (R&D) and Commercial operations. This role is responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of the existing portfolio and driving the successful launch of new product innovations.

  • Portfolio Management & Commercial Support
    • Technical Consultation: Provide expert technical advice and support to the Sales department and external stakeholders.
    • Complaint Management: Lead the technical investigation and resolution of customer complaints to ensure quality standards.
    • Documentation Oversight: Maintain and update all technical collateral, including Brochures, TDS, SDS, and Standard Specifications.
    • Cost & Supply Optimization: Direct initiatives focused on cost reduction and long-term supply chain security.
    • Customization: Manage and approve technical agreements for customized product specifications.
  • New Product Development (NPD)
    • Strategic Input: Provide technical insights and market trend analysis to support new business initiatives.
    • Project Leadership: Run the "New Product Development" program from start to finish.
    • Launch Readiness: Develop all necessary technical sales tools and documentation for new product launches.
    • Technical Training: Conduct product training sessions for internal teams and, where required, external clients.
    • Global Liaison: Coordinate regional requirements with Global and Regional R&D centers to ensure alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Technical Expertise
    • Academic Background: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline. An MBA or a Master's degree is a significant advantage.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Proficiency in global safety and compliance standards (e.g., REACH, GHS) and experience managing SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and TDS (Technical Data Sheets).
    • Industry Knowledge: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a technical role (R&D, Technical Service, or Applications Development), preferably within the Polymers or Chemicals sector.
  • Professional Experience
    • Product Lifecycle Management: Proven track record of managing products from R&D conception through to commercial launch.
    • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams. Certification in PMP or Agile is preferred.
    • Commercial Exposure: Experience supporting Sales or Marketing teams with technical consultations and handling high-stakes customer complaints.
  • Core Competencies & Skills
    • Communication: The ability to "translate" complex technical data into simple, persuasive language for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for root-cause analysis in product failures or quality complaints.
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify market trends and map them back to technical R&D capabilities.
