Field Quality Engineer / Application Engineer
About the job Field Quality Engineer / Application Engineer
Position focus:
The candidate for this full-time position will ensure on-going quality excellence and act as a connecting link between company production plants, the business units and the customer. To provide a first point of contact for the Customer about quality related issues and initial application engineering.
Main Tasks
1. Field quality quality assurance
- Build strong, working relationships with major customer stakeholders
- Responsible for ensuring products produced meet quality standards required to minimise quality costs and maximise customer satisfaction
- Processing complaints from external customers
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with both internal and external customers
- Collect root cause analysis data and provide corrective feedback to prevent line stops due to quality issues
- Coordinating error analyses, using problem-solving methodologies (like 8D-reports) and determining corrective measures in cooperation with the relevant departments.
- Support new product introductions to ensure the robustness of product builds with a clean cut-off, minimising obsolete stock
- Maintenance of customer portals to ensure that deadlines are met for reporting and most accurate data is shared
2. Sorting activities
- Instruct sorting companies
- Evaluate and communicate sorting results
- Interact with production side and sorting companies
- Present root cause findings and counter measures reports
- Manage to stop sortings
3. Application Engineering
- Develop technical relationships with the customer and business partners
- Clarify the customer specific requirements and offer technical support in co-operation with the application engineering team
- Coordinate projects between customer, Application Engineer, Company Center of Operations worldwide, especially for new developments
- Get sign-offs for newly implemented drawings and design changes
- Initiate sample orders and follow up
- Coordination of drawings, specifications as well as requesting customer approvals
- Facilitate deviation approvals
- Assist with new product introduction
4. Competitor observation
- Observe competitor activities by understanding their product range, talking to existing and potential customers, collecting marketing information, visiting fairs, etc.
- Supporting systematic technical observation of the competition
5. Others
- Organize visits to customers
- Write visit reports and carry out necessary activities implied by these
- Contributing to the improvement of customer satisfaction
- Support Key Account Manager + Area Sales Manager
- Ensure timely input of deliverables into the internal systems
- Regular CRM-, SAP system, etc.
- Coordination of claims per internal guidelines
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing / engineering degree or quality degree with technical understanding
- Experience of working in Quality Assurance
- Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers in the Automotive and Industrial field
- Microsoft office fluency
- Fluent English
- Native Local ASEAN Languages and Chinese are a plus
