Assistant Cost Controller
About the job Assistant Cost Controller
- Monitor project budgets, actual costs and forecasts to support financial control and reporting in a multi-currency environment.
- Collaborate with project teams, procurement, and finance to ensure accurate cost allocation and forecasting.
- Support daily operations of project cost control and tracking including project related Accounts Payable (AP) functions such as supplier invoice processing and verification of supporting documents.
Project Cost Tracking and Control
- Work under the supervision of the Head of Cost Control to ensure accurate project cost tracking and financial reporting
- Monitor and track actual project costs against budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in preparing cost reports, forecasts and variance analyses.
- Ensure proper cost allocation to respective project codes and cost centers.
- Support budget revisions and cost reallocation processes in coordination with project teams
Accounts Payable Project Costing
- Review and verify supplier invoice/tax invoices and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with VAT and withholding tax (WHT) regulations.
- Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts, and supplier invoices.
- Monitor supplier invoices to reflect the project progress and milestones.
- Maintain well-organized physical and electronic AP documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
Project Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all cost-related documentation is properly filed and accessible for internal and external audits.
- Support compliance with internal controls and financial policies related to project expenditures.
- Coordinate with procurement and project teams to resolve discrepancies in invoicing or cost allocation.
Month-End Closing & Reporting
- Assist in month-end closing by preparing project cost summaries and reconciliations.
- Provide cost data and documentation to support financial reporting and audits
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree Major Accounting/Finance or relevant fields.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, for communication and documentation purposes.
- Solid understanding of project accounting principles and cost control methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of Thai tax regulations, including VAT and withholding tax (WHT).
- Experience in cost control within an international branch, project-based environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Xero or willingness to learn is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic project setting.
