Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support a fast-growing financial technology company by leading critical accounting close activities, ensuring US GAAP compliance, and driving process improvements across the accounting function.

This is a highly visible role responsible for managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, reviewing reconciliations and financial reporting, supporting audits, and partnering cross-functionally to improve efficiency and scalability. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with leadership experience in public company or Big 4 environments.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Close & Financial Reporting

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities
• Manage and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and rollforwards
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
• Analyze monthly financial results and investigate key account fluctuations
• Maintain accounting integrity while improving close efficiency

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Review general ledger activity and supporting documentation
• Oversee reconciliation processes and financial reporting controls
• Support implementation and enhancement of accounting procedures

Audit Support

• Coordinate internal and external audit requests
• Serve as a primary accounting liaison for auditors
• Ensure audit deliverables are completed accurately and on time
• Support annual and quarterly audit activities

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce close timelines
• Improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
• Partner with cross-functional teams to solve accounting and reporting challenges

Team Leadership

• Coordinate and lead accounting close activities across the team
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 5+ years of accounting experience within:
  • Big 4 public accounting firms
  • Public companies
  • Combination of both environments
• Experience leading monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience reviewing:
  • Journal entries
  • Account reconciliations
  • Financial statements
  • Internal controls

Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong manual calculation and financial analysis capabilities
• Experience supporting internal and external audits
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Leadership & Communication

• Experience coordinating accounting teams and close processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments
• Continuous improvement mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification strongly preferred
• NetSuite experience
• BlackLine experience
• Technology, SaaS, FinTech, or public company experience
• Experience improving accounting processes and automation initiatives

Compensation

• $70.00 per hour
