The project and your role

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to help improve and grow an existing software platform. This platform is used to deliver advanced orthodontic devices and digital treatment systems to patients.

In this role, you will work on an important medical project. Your main task will be to develop backend services for a growing number of users worldwide. You will work directly with the clients engineering team to make sure the platform is reliable, fast, and can handle a lot of traffic.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex backend features and services to support the continued growth of the client platform.
• Actively participate in architecture and technical decision making to ensure long-term system health.
• Support and extend the existing platform functionality while identifying opportunities for modernization.
• Maintain high code quality through rigorous code reviews and quality control standards.
• Collaborate closely with the clients engineering team to align on technical goals and delivery timelines.
• Troubleshoot system issues and implement performance improvements to ensure a seamless user experience.

Your skills

Essential Qualifications (Must Haves):

• Extensive experience in Java engineering at a senior level, with a deep understanding of the language and its ecosystem.
• Strong expertise in system design and backend architecture for distributed, high load production systems.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining robust REST APIs and working with relational databases using SQL.
• Proactive and independent contributor mindset with the ability to take ownership of technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with client-side engineering teams.

Desired Skills & Knowledge (Nice to Haves):

• Experience working within a microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
