The project and your role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Department Manager to join our team and ensure the efficient and effective allocation of resources within our organization. This role is pivotal to the smooth running of our IT department and involves collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular communications with employees, including 1-1 meetings, to ensure alignment and engagement.
- Develop the IT departments hard and soft skills while fostering growth and learning.
- Oversee hiring, resource allocation, and project staffing for optimal utilization.
- Collaborate with business teams, HR, and Operational Directors on resource planning.
- Handle administrative tasks like timesheets, holidays, and resource management.
- Coordinate with partners to address capacity needs and ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor and improve business processes to drive efficiency.
- Act as a communication bridge between IT, project managers, and team leaders, ensuring understanding of skillsets and team needs.
- Resolve challenges with a problem-solving mindset and support long-term growth through process improvements.
Your skills:
- Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- A strategic perspective, with the ability to align resource management strategies with organizational goals.
- Experience in managing remote or geographically dispersed teams.
- A detail-oriented mindset for maintaining accurate resource records and documentation.
- Critical thinking, analytical, and forecasting skills.
- Conflict-resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Leadership and proactivity, with a balanced and adaptable approach to challenges.
- Prior experience as Resources Manager or as L&D is a plus.
