We are currently looking for a Backup & Recovery Engineer to support a leading client in the real estate industry.

Project Information
The Backup & Recovery Engineer will be responsible for ensuring efficient and secure backup and recovery of critical enterprise data hosted in Microsoft Azure. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing backup solutions for cloud-based and hybrid infrastructures. You will collaborate with cloud architects, system administrators, and security teams to ensure business continuity and data protection.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Azure-based backup and recovery solutions, including Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and third-party tools.
  • Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Automate backup workflows using tools like Azure Automation, PowerShell, and similar technologies.
  • Monitor and optimize backup performance, ensuring data protection and integrity.
  • Document backup and recovery processes, including disaster recovery procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backup-related issues and support data restoration when needed.
  • Work closely with IT teams to align with cloud strategies and train staff on best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and establish RPO/RTO goals.

Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience with backup and recovery solutions, especially in cloud environments like Microsoft Azure.
  • Expertise in Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Storage.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar scripting tools for automation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise backup software such as Veeam, Commvault, or EMC.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, and databases.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Knowledge of data encryption, retention policies, and security compliance standards.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
