Senior Relationship Manager – Middle Market – Miami, FL

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related discipline
- At least 10 years of commercial relationship management experience
- At least 5 years of direct business development and new-client acquisition experience
- Formal commercial credit training
- Demonstrated success originating and expanding middle market or large corporate banking relationships
- Strong knowledge of commercial credit, loan structuring, financial analysis, risk ratings, and portfolio management
- Experience advising privately held companies, larger corporate borrowers, private equity firms, or family offices
- Ability to generate business through established referral networks, community involvement, and industry relationships
- Experience identifying cross-functional opportunities involving treasury management, deposits, lending, and other banking services
- Proficiency with client relationship management platforms, pipeline reporting, and revenue forecasting
- Strong negotiation, executive communication, and relationship-building capabilities
- Working knowledge of regulatory, reputational, operational, and credit risk considerations
- Ability to work on-site in Miami, FL
Description:
- Lead the acquisition of new middle market and larger corporate relationships throughout the South Florida market.
- Create and execute market strategies that generate revenue, increase relationship penetration, and deepen share of wallet.
- Develop trusted-advisor relationships with corporate decision-makers, private equity sponsors, family offices, and professional referral sources.
- Maintain consistent prospecting activity through referral networks, community involvement, industry associations, and direct client outreach.
- Analyze prospective relationships to determine strategic fit, credit suitability, revenue potential, and risk-adjusted return.
- Structure commercial banking solutions that align client objectives with internal credit, pricing, and risk requirements.
- Identify opportunities to introduce treasury management, deposit, lending, and other specialized financial solutions.
- Coordinate client presentations and engage internal product partners to deliver comprehensive recommendations.
- Manage an accurate pipeline within the organization's CRM platform and provide reliable forecasting of prospective revenue and relationship activity.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Associates, senior banking professionals, Credit Risk, and Client Services throughout underwriting, approval, onboarding, and closing.
- Provide strategic direction to deal teams during credit analysis, transaction negotiation, documentation, and externally facing closing activities.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to evaluate financial performance, emerging business needs, and changes in risk profile.
- Partner with Portfolio Managers to assess credit quality and recommend appropriate internal risk ratings.
- Review and provide direction on portfolio monitoring activities, including leveraged lending, shared credit exposure, criticized assets, and other internal reporting.
- Evaluate transaction-related approval requests involving overdrafts, manual wires, returned payments, and account restrictions.
- Manage regulatory, operational, reputational, and credit risks in accordance with established risk-appetite parameters.
- Support the professional development of Associates and Senior Associates by providing guidance on client strategy, credit events, and transaction execution.
- Represent the institution in the Miami business community and strengthen its visibility among prospective clients and referral partners.
- Report to senior commercial banking leadership and work closely with Credit Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Treasury Management, Client Services, and other product teams.
