Paraplanner

 Job Description:

Our client is a boutique wealth management firm serving high-net-worth families with complex financial lives. We're hiring a Paraplanner to be the analytical engine behind our financial planning work — the person who builds the plans, runs the scenarios, and answers the research questions so our advisors can focus on guiding clients and growing the firm.

We are looking for someone with real financial planning depth who wants to do the substantive work: constructing comprehensive plans, modeling retirement, tax, investment, and estate strategies, and turning complex data into clear, accurate deliverables. It's a genuine career track — strong paraplanners here grow toward associate and lead advisor responsibilities as the firm scales.

What You'll Own

Financial Plan Construction

  • Do the bulk of the work building comprehensive financial plans — managing the planning software, inputting data-gathering details, running scenarios, and assembling the client-ready deliverable.
  • Develop preliminary strategies across retirement, investment, tax, and estate planning for advisor review.
  • Prepare and update projections and review deliverables for annual client meetings.

Analysis & Research

  • Gather and organize client financial data — income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
  • Analyze client situations to identify strengths, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
  • Research investment options, market trends, products, and one-off client questions, bringing well-supported answers to the advisor.
  • Review quarterly investment reports and assist in rebalancing portfolios in line with client objectives.

Client Meetings & Follow-Through

  • Attend client meetings, capture notes, action items, and takeaways, and own the follow-up.
  • Enter notes and action items into the CRM and assign supporting workflows and tasks.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact, fielding straightforward planning questions and escalating complex ones to the advisor.
  • Implement action steps to close gaps in clients' financial plans.

Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and current client records and documentation.
  • Monitor client portfolios and plans for alignment with goals.
  • Stay current on financial regulations, market conditions, and planning best practices.
What You Are
  • Analytically strong — you find the trends, risks, and opportunities in the numbers.
  • Detail-obsessed, with a high bar for accuracy in every plan and report.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines without dropping threads.
  • A clear communicator who can translate complex financial concepts for advisors and clients.
  • Trustworthy and discreet with confidential information.
  • Growth-minded — you want a career track, not just a job.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, financial planning, economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of financial planning principles, portfolio allocation, and investment management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort with financial planning software.
  • Strong analytical and math aptitude.
  • Polished, professional verbal and written communication.
  • Comfort with technology and AI-assisted tools — we use them daily.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFP certification, or active progress toward it (coursework, exam, or experience requirement).
  • Series 65 license, or willingness to obtain it for client-facing planning work.
  • 2–5 years supporting financial advisors in building comprehensive financial plans.
  • Experience with high-net-worth or complex planning situations.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, Redtail, Wealthbox, or similar) and LPL Financial systems.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary and bonus, commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and a commitment to work-life balance.
  • Full or partial support for CFP and other professional accreditation and continuing education.
  • Direct mentorship and a clear path to associate and lead advisor roles as the firm grows.
