Financial Planner

 Job Description:

Our client is a boutique wealth management firm seeking an experienced Financial Planner to join our growing wealth management team. This role focuses on deep client engagement and relationship management not sales or new business development. The ideal candidate is a CFP® with strong technical planning expertise, experience using RightCapital and Redtail, and familiarity with Schwab as a custodian.

The Financial Planner will guide clients through every stage of their financial planning relationship from initial prospect meetings through ongoing plan updates and reviews while adhering to the firms established systems, philosophies, and processes. This position is remote with preference for candidates in or around North-Central Illinois)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client meetings from the initial discovery call through plan presentation and implementation.
  • Develop comprehensive financial plans using RightCapital, integrating cash flow, retirement, tax, insurance, and estate considerations.
  • Manage all aspects of ongoing client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and proactive communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate investment management, account maintenance, and service requests through Schwab.
  • Maintain organized and compliant client records and workflows within Redtail CRM.
  • Conduct regular plan reviews with clients at least annually, ensuring that goals, assumptions, and strategies remain aligned.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable advice for clients.
  • Follow and reinforce the firms established financial planning process, systems, and philosophies.
  • Support and train junior team members or client service associates when needed.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and execution of planning recommendations.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in comprehensive financial planning.
  • CFP® designation required
  • Proficiency with RightCapital, Redtail CRM, and Schwab Advisor Center preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning principles, including retirement, tax, and estate strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable leading client meetings independently.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to process consistency.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a remote work environment while maintaining high accountability.
