Financial Planner
Job Description:
Financial Planner
Deliver insight. Cultivate trust. Contribute to something enduring.
For more than four decades, our firm has advised a select group of professionals, business owners, and multigenerational families with $1M+ in investable assets. We operate with the rigor and attentiveness of a family office — integrating investment management with sophisticated planning across tax, estate, and long-term wealth management.
We are seeking an experienced Financial Planner to work in close partnership with senior advisors, including the firm's founder. This role is designed for a thoughtful practitioner who values depth over volume—someone who takes pride in precision, operates effectively within a collaborative, high-trust environment, and is motivated by meaningful client impact.
You will play a central role in the planning process — shaping recommendations, contributing to client dialogue, and helping drive outcomes. Over time, the role may evolve along multiple, well-defined paths aligned with individual strengths and ambition: into a Senior Financial Planner capacity with increased technical depth, complexity, and mentorship; into a Lead Advisor role with primary client responsibility and relationship leadership; or into a specialized investment track, contributing to portfolio strategy and research, including pursuit of the CFA® designation.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with advisors to design and implement integrated planning strategies
- Contribute meaningfully in client meetings, helping guide thoughtful discussions
- Develop and maintain financial plans, including modeling, scenario analysis, and projections
- Prepare for client engagements by synthesizing financial information and identifying opportunities
- Collaborate closely with the firm's in-house tax team to review and refine tax planning strategies, and participate in the review of client tax returns to ensure alignment with broader wealth planning objectives
- Coordinate follow-through on client decisions with precision and accountability
- Maintain accurate client records and serve as a responsive, trusted point of contact
- Collaborate across the firm to deliver a seamless, high-touch client experience
- Contribute to the evolution of the firm's planning capabilities, processes, and offerings
What Distinguishes This Role
- Career Path Flexibility
A deliberate and structured approach to growth, with clearly defined pathways aligned to performance and aspiration, including progression to Senior Financial Planner, advancement into a Lead Advisor role, or specialization in investment research and strategy. - Apprenticeship-Level Mentorship
Direct engagement with experienced advisors and firm leadership, with emphasis on developing judgment alongside technical expertise - Depth of Work
Exposure to complex, high-net-worth client situations requiring thoughtful, multi-disciplinary planning - Autonomy with Accountability
The ability to shape strategies and contribute ideas within a culture that values ownership and follow-through - Firm-Wide Influence
Opportunities to enhance how we serve clients through process refinement, innovation, and new capabilities - Dedicated Time for Improvement
Structured opportunities to step back from day-to-day work and meaningfully improve how we operate
Compensation
We offer a competitive and thoughtfully structured compensation package aligned with experience, contribution, and long-term growth within the firm.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial Planning, or a related field
- CFP® certification required
- Active Series 7, Series 66 or Series 63/65, and insurance licenses
- ~8+ years of experience in wealth management with a strong planning focus
- Expertise across tax, estate, retirement, and investment planning
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and convey complex ideas clearly
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with CRM systems and core planning tools
- Collaborative mindset, sound judgment, and commitment to professional growth
- Demonstrated record of professional growth and increasing responsibility within wealth management
- High emotional intelligence and professional maturity, with the ability to take initiative and contribute meaningfully within a collaborative, high-expectation environment
