Lead Planner
Job Description:
Our client is a fee-only financial planning firm based in West Des Moines, IA. They are seeking a Lead Planner to join their growing team. The Lead Planner is the relationship manager for around 100 clients and oversees revenue between $500k-$700K. The Lead Planner is responsible for providing advice on matters related to Financial Advising and Investment Management. These areas include cash flow and tax planning, retirement planning, estate planning, insurance planning, and investment management. In addition to servicing clients, this individual will spend about 25% of their time on business development through relationship-building and identifying prospects matching our unique target clientele. This role includes a base salary plus a bonus structure tied to company profitability and revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to determine their financial goals, risk tolerance, income, expenses and assets.
- Interpret financial information.
- Write and update clients financial plan.
- Identify gaps in clients plans relative to their goals, then strategize methods of reducing or eliminating those gaps.
- Educate clients in financial planning and investment concepts.
- Respond to ad hoc client questions.
- Convey complex strategies in both oral and written form.
- Generate new business and build relationships.
- Juggle multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines.
- Provide excellent client service.
- Identify and pursue potential clients to maintain a strong client base
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of five years of experience in a client-facing financial planner role
- CFP® required

Compensation and Benefits:
- This position has a strong base salary and bonus component plus extensive benefits.
- Base salary (commensurate with experience) between $140k-$210k.
