Financial Planning Associate

 Job Description:

Our client is an independent, Chicago based wealth manager founded in 1990 that offers wealth management services and currently manages over $1 billion in assets. The firm provides its clients with thoughtful financial advice, comprehensive financial plans, and customized investment portfolios.

They are seeking a Financial Planning Associate to assist the firm in managing and enhancing its financial planning processes. We are looking for an exceptional client-oriented individual who wants to build financial plans and who has an interest in personal finance. Our ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, work well in a team environment, and be interested in growing with our firm. This role will be a client-facing position, responsible for setting up financial plans, and providing ongoing client support for our wealth management clients. This is a full-time position with retirement benefits, health benefits, and paid time off.

The individual will report to one of the firms co-CEOs and have mentoring opportunities with all of the firms relationship managers. 

The core responsibilities this individual may assume immediately and over time include:

· Help manage ongoing relationships with clients, keeping them updated about changes affecting their finances

· Interacting with clients to answer questions and provide information as it relates to servicing their accounts.

· Assess clients overall financial picture and understand their needs to devise an appropriate financial plan

· Assist clients with service-related requests

· Prepare client presentation and client review materials

· Support firms client development and marketing initiatives

· Draft letters and documents

· Enhance and design tools and capabilities that make the firm more effective and efficient in serving its clients

A candidate for the Relationship Manager / Financial Planner role should meet the following qualifications:

· Minimum of 1+ year professional or relevant internship experience required

· Experience in financial services a plus

· High degree of professionalism, work ethic, and deep respect for regulatory requirements

· Excellent people skills, positive friendly attitude

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Diligent, responsible, punctual, detail-oriented, organized with strong time management skills

· Strong quantitative analysis skills and an understanding of basic financial concepts.

· Expertise with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Expertise with SalesForce, Morningstar Direct, Black Diamond, and especially E-Money would be helpful.

· Ability to learn new technologies and programs with ease

· Flexible and willing to contribute to other projects as necessary

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

· Significant interest in investing and personal finance

· Ability to make decisions and solve problems
