Overview: As a Stone Wall Mason, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing stone walls using various types of stone, mortar, and specialized tools. This role requires a blend of craftsmanship, physical strength, and technical skill to create durable and visually appealing structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare Worksite: Assess blueprints or specifications to determine the layout and design of the stone wall. Clear and prepare the worksite, ensuring proper drainage and foundation.
  2. Select Materials: Choose appropriate types and sizes of stone based on project requirements and aesthetic considerations. Estimate quantities needed and ensure materials are of high quality.
  3. Cut and Shape Stones: Use tools such as hammers, chisels, and saws to cut and shape stones to fit specific dimensions and patterns.
  4. Mix Mortar: Prepare mortar or other bonding materials according to specifications, ensuring correct proportions and consistency for strong adhesion.
  5. Lay Stones: Set stones in mortar beds, aligning them according to design plans and ensuring level and plumb placement. Build courses or layers of stone, adjusting as necessary to maintain structural integrity and appearance.
  6. Finish Joints: Fill joints between stones with mortar, ensuring a neat and durable finish. Shape and tool mortar joints to achieve desired appearance.
