Electromechanical Technician

Job Summary

The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems used in water supply, treatment, and distribution facilities. The role ensures continuous, efficient, and compliant operation of electromechanical equipment essential to service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Efficiencies (70%)

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, blowers, control panel and other electromechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance for all facilities.
• Ensure electrical wiring, conduits and control systems comply with safety standards.
• Prepare maintenance logs, reports and documentation for audit and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with operations teams during system shutdowns, repairs and emergency responses.
• Conducts regular inspection of facilities to assess compliance with standard processes and proposed operational efficiencies.

Testing and Commissioning

• Assist in installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment and system upgrades.
• Support water treatment and distribution operations by maintaining optimal equipment functionality.
• Single Line Diagram Preparation
• Electrical Ladder Diagram Preparation
• Electrical Components Spare Parts List Preparation
• PMS and Service Report Preparation

Technical Competencies and Skills

• Must have at least five (5) years knowledge and experience in electromechanical operations in water or waste water facility. • Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in facility asset maintenance. • Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in database development, planning analysis and monitoring. • Excellent skills in using MS Office Application

Education, Trainings and Licenses Required

• Diploma or vocational certification in Electromechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field. • Must have a Master Electrician License or Electrical Installation and Maintenance NCIII • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, preferably in water utilities. • Working knowledge of pumps, motors, PLCs, and industrial electrical systems. • Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals. • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. • Willingness to work on shifting schedules, emergencies, and field assignments
