POSITION SUMMARY

In accordance with the policies, procedure and standards of Chroma Hospitality, Inc. and Crimson Resort & Spa, Mactan, and under the direct supervision of the Rooms Division Director, the Sports and Leisure Manager is responsible for the management of all open-water and marine-based sports and leisure activities at Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan, including diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, kayaking, banana boat ride, parasailing and other motorized and non-motorized water sports. Oversees the dive shop, ensures compliance with international diving and safety standards, and delivers high-quality guest experiences for all the guests.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MEETS AND EXCEEDS CUSTOMERS AND TEAM MEMBERS EXPECTATIONS by providing Unique Guest Experience

  • Establishes and communicates customer service objectives which support achievements of Crimsons Mission and Vision.
  • Monitors customer service levels and counsels employees with alternative methods of responding to customer requests.
  • Ensures that employees receive the training necessary to provide Unique Guest Experience service.
  • Determines customer delight level and needs by reviewing comment cards and talking to customers regularly.
  • Provides staff with the skills training to be able to provide value-added service to customers.
  • Performs other duties as required to provide Unique Guest Experience.

OPERATIONAL OVERSIGHT AND GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Oversee dive shop operations, dive instructors, dive masters, and water sports attendants.
  • Manage logistics of dive trips, boat usage, and scheduling of water activities.
  • Ensure adherence to resort policies and international diving standards (PADI/SSI/NAUI).
  • Monitor the upkeep and usage of watercraft and open-water facilities.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of diving gear, tanks, watercraft, and safety equipment.
  • Maintain detailed inventory records and ensure proper equipment storage.
  • Coordinate with Engineering for preventive maintenance of boats and watercraft.
  • Develop and manage programs for diving and water sports tailored to both local and international guests.
  • Conduct quality checks on guest experiences to ensure service consistency.
  • Promote marine activities through collaboration with Sales & Marketing.
  • Ensure cultural sensitivity and adaptability when handling guests of diverse nationalities.
  • Promote sustainable and eco-friendly diving and marine activities.
  • Educate staff and guests on marine conservation practices.

SAFETY & RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Establish and enforce strict safety protocols for diving and marine sports.
  • Ensure staff certifications are current (PADI, CPR, First Aid, Oxygen Provider, lifeguard).
  • Maintain close coordination with Security and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for safety compliance.
  • Lead emergency response drills and ensure readiness for water-related incidents.

FINANCIAL & REVENUE GENERATION

  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for marine sports and diving operations.
  • Monitor revenues and expenses, including equipment rentals and activity packages.
  • Control costs and maximize profitability.
  • Work with Sales & Marketing to create promotions for dive and water sports packages.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AND COLLABORATION

  • Train, and manage dive shop staff, instructors, and water sports attendants.
  • Conduct coaching and performance appraisals for professional growth.
  • Ensure team members are trained in guest service excellence and safety compliance.
  • Develop succession plans for critical dive and marine operations roles.
  • Coordinate with Front Office, Reservations, and Sales for guest bookings and promotions.
  • Report regularly to the Rooms Division Director on operational, financial, and safety matters.
  • Act as liaison with the Department of Tourism (DOT), LGUs, and Coast Guard for permits, accreditations, and compliance.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Hotel policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Prepares reports as necessary to develop a more informative database for improved Management decision-making and critical evaluation of work activities.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other Hotel employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
  • At all times, projects a favorable image of Crimson Resort & Spa to the public.
  • Performs any other duties and tasks that may be assigned by immediate superiors from time to time.
