Position Title: Accounting Officer
Location: Northgate, Alabang Muntinlupa City.
Job Summary:
The Accounting Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies. They will supervise a team of accountants, provide guidance and training as needed, and collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day activities of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify areas of improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and assist with external audits and tax filings, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors and tax authorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, resolve issues, and support business initiatives.
- Train, mentor, and develop accounting staff, providing guidance and feedback to foster professional growth and performance excellence.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate relevant changes to the accounting team.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CFO or Accounting Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and delivering results.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
