Job Summary: The Strategic Research and Analytics Manager leads the market research, strategic analysis, and data-driven decision support for the organization. This role supports leadership by providing insights on industry trends, market dynamics, regulatory shifts, and competitor strategies in the power and energy sector to influence long-term planning, investment decisions, and innovation pathways.

The role shall lead the coordination with Marketing, Commercial Operations and Plant Operations in building and maintaining the BUs database to support the formulation of strategic recommendation.

KEY FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Market/Industry Research and Data Analytics

  • Conduct and analysis of in-depth qualitative and quantitative research on industry trends, technology adoption, and macroeconomic influences in the power and energy space
  • Analyse internal and external datasets to uncover opportunities, risks, and performance insights
  • Design and maintain dashboards

Strategic Analysis & Foresight

  • Develop strategic frameworks, market forecasts and competitive benchmarking to support executive decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants or agencies to align on strategy inputs and insights.
  • Prepare and deliver concise strategic briefs, insight reports, and presentations to executive leadership and the board

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: 

  1. Energy Sector Expertise - In-depth understanding of power generation, renewable energy, transmission/distribution, regulatory environment, and market structures
  2. Data Analytics & Visualization - Skilled in data analytics and visualization tools; strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  3. Market Intelligence & Research - Ability to synthesize data from primary and secondary research; vendor and survey management
  4. Communication & Influence - Strong storytelling, executive reporting, and presentation skills with an ability to translate technical insights into business impact

EDUCATION, TRAININGS, LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Energy Systems, Statistics, or related fields.
  • At least 6 to 8 years of professional experience in strategy, analytics, or market research roles
  • At least 3 to 5 years in the power, energy, or utilities industry
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, or executive reporting
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms, and data visualization
