About the job Learning and Development Specialist

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of business-centric and learner-centered learning and development programs, processes, tools, and solutions for needs/ opportunity areas such as, but not limited to, onboarding, core skills development, leadership development, and functional development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of Learning Functions

  • Demonstrates ownership of the end to end learning function or learning activities assigned to fulfill the learning journey.
  • Establishes awareness of, drives the implementation, and successfully embeds the learning and development programs, processes and tools.
  • Serves as an effective learning partner to their stakeholders, supporting the development, implementation and delivery of learning solutions.
  • Designs learning programs to address competency gaps based on the training needs analysis.
  • Defines resources required based on learning capability of the organization external learning providers, SMEs, etc..
  • Ensures planning and optimization of resources by managing the learning environment (logistics, materials, media, equipment, connectivity, etc).
  • Facilitates learning and development programs, utilizing effective presentation and facilitation skills including creative training and adult learning techniques in both live and virtual classroom environments.
  • Able to profile learners and adapts design, activities, and facilitation style based on trainees' background using various learning methodologies.
  • Delivers training in a manner that supports learner experience and fosters a learning culture through modeling of values and behaviors.

Measurement and Evaluation of Learning Programs

  • Monitors and evaluates learning programs and ensures that they meet set quality and design standards and deliver expected learning outcome and results.
  • Help find creative solutions for learning and development by ensuring the effective use of the learning management system (where applicable), external learning resources contracted by the company, and other tools and equipment used in delivering training. Manages and supports learning systems and processes to respond to current and future business needs.
  • Measures effectiveness of learning programs, plans for data collection and analysis and uses appropriate tools to measure effectiveness of the programs.
  • Prepares learning reports and provides visibility to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Provides recommendations for improvement of the learning programs based on findings. Implements actions based on recommendations / gaps identified.

Stakeholder Partnerships

  • Proactively engages the business in learning team initiatives and value add strategies.
  • Manages stakeholder requirements through gathering and analysing business needs, designing and developing learning interventions when applicable, implementing appropriate learning solutions and tools, and evaluating results against business drivers and stakeholder needs.
  • Partners with business leaders and stakeholders in the development and implementation of learning programs, processes, curriculum, content and tools that align with strategies and standards.
  • Participation in or ownership of other relevant projects or initiatives as required.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • With in-depth experience in supporting and managing Learning and Development programs, processes, and tools.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills focused on helping people learn.
  • Ability to work within a collaborative environment demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience with skills/knowledge of the various learning enablement disciplines (design, development, learning projects, learning events, analytics, instructor-led, blended learning, social learning, eLearning, knowledge management, coaching, etc).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in psychology, behavioural science, business administration and any other related programs.
  • 4-7 years work experience in Learning and Development
  • Train-the-Trainer Certification
  • English proficiency, presentation, public speaking, and/or any related training.
  • With leadership and excellent written and verbal communication skills
