About the job Cost Planner - Civil
The Cost Planner is in-charge of the preparation of budgetary estimate. His/her duties involve preparation of quantity take-off, canvassing/ coordination to SCM for materials costs in relation to establishing a unit cost, and verifying technical data to Technical Planning Team, requesting, and assisting in the review of plans and specifications for completeness. He/She is responsible in making sure the budgetary estimate is well prepared based on standard format to be able to come up with a complete estimate.
KEY FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PREPARATION OF PROJECT BUDGET
Analyze plans and specifications to provide accurate and detailed estimate.
Carry out high-level cost estimate, cost studies and cost comparison of similar product types.
Cost Reporting and Presentation
PREPARATION OF VALUE ENGINEERING OPTIONS
Review plans and specifications and identify cost drivers and provide alternatives and preliminary value engineering exercise
Coordinate with Tech Planning for further value engineering exercise and update Cost Estimate/s thereof
BUDGET CHECKING FOR APPROVAL
Present to Cost Planning Manager the budgetary estimate for initial review prior to final approval by the Cost Planning Head.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College graduate, preferably BS Civil Engineering
- At least 2-3 years relevant cost planning experience
- Preferably Licensed Engineer
