AVP for IT

Position Summary: 

The AVP for IT aligns technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies and developing and implementing technology initiatives within the organization. This individual oversees the maintenance of existing systems ensuring that the IT infrastructure and systems are working effectively while providing direction in all technology-related issues.



Scope and Responsibilities: 

• Aligns the IT vision with the overall business strategy of the organization
• Directs and manages IT strategic plans, policies and programs to accomplish corporate goals and objectives
• Advises corporate leadership about the need for timely investments in IT
• Identifies opportunities and risks for delivering the company's IT services
• Identifies technology trends that may support the success of the business.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices by attending relevant conferences and events
• Collaborates with the appropriate departments to assess and recommend technologies that support company organizational needs.
• Provides inputs to IT capital budget
• Plans and designs the IT network, systems and communication infrastructure of the Hotel and Restaurant business units.
• Coordinates closely with Filinvest Hotel Planning group and Contractors regarding the technical requirements.
• Developing a bandwidth supplies for the properties.
• Defines standards and provides requirements for acquiring/purchasing systems, equipment or software within the company
• Meets with vendors and suppliers for technical clarifications on the IT equipment bidding
• Coordinates with Construction Project Team, Telecommunications Companies, IT vendors and suppliers regarding implementation and deployment
• Spearheads implementation of network infrastructure and system setup during hotel pre-opening phase.
• Evaluates overall operations of IT functions and recommend enhancements
• Leads the hotel's IT initiatives on administering any change modifications or additions to the system
• Ensures that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.
• Oversees the security of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
• Oversees ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system enhancements.
• Oversees research and development as well as special projects.
• Develops and adapts any ideas that bring IT services to higher management
• Develops policies with reference to the systems, communicating with vendors and developing training programs.
• Devises the IT framework, technology procedures and practices of an organization. Sets up the policies and structures for managing the underlying IT infrastructure, which comprises all of the organization's computers, servers, computer peripherals, telecommunication systems, Internet connectivity networks, software applications, and data centers.
