JOB SUMMARY:

The IT Systems Admin Lead ensures server availability and timely support for external and internal customers. He or she is responsible for his or her to do server installation, operation, monitoring and maintenance. Provides professional, proactive, and timely support of KRAs and promptly addresses ITSRs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operations and Support

  • Provides technical support to investigate and resolve service requests and issues, to meet service level agreements as required by the business
  • Creates scripts for system monitoring and to automate administrative tasks
  • Monitors CPU, memory, network, and disk utilization, ensuring that they meet the desired performance level
  • Records, monitors and reports system performance and logs

2. Provisioning and Deployment

Under supervision,

  • Installs operating system, software, drivers and utilities to manage servers, storage, backup utility and automation process software required for production, development, testing and disaster-recovery environments
  • Performs updates, upgrades, builds, and migrations according to build documents
  • Prepares application administration operating instructions for server, storage, backup utility and process automation software environments.
  • Contributes and adheres to group-wide server standards
  • Protects data from unauthorized access or accidental loss by implementing and enforcing appropriate backup strategies and data security procedures.
  • Ensures media are labelled and stored in the designated locations
  • Performs restore operation when necessary

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Knowledge and experience in Windows system, configuration and troubleshooting; certification is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in Linux systems, configuration and troubleshooting is a plus
  • Knowledge in computer network technologies, familiar with TCP/IP communication Theory, in-depth understanding of the HTTP Protocol.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Computer Engineering, BSECE or a technical IT degree
  • At least 3 years of server administration-related experience
