Job Summary

The Data Science Policy Lead will establish and maintain the companys data governance and analytics policy framework. This role will focus on writing, standardizing, and enforcing data-related policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance in the use of data across all business systems, including sales and marketing portals, ERP platforms, and analytics dashboards.

The role will work closely with IT, department managers (Sales, Marketing, Project Development, Finance, etc.), and senior business leaders to translate complex data methodologies into clear, actionable policies and standards that guide responsible data usage, model governance, and analytical practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data science and analytics policies, covering data collection, model development, validation, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Document data governance standards, ensuring consistency in data definitions, usage, privacy, and security across systems.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, IT teams, and business stakeholders to align policy guidelines with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and implement model governance frameworks to ensure transparency, explainability, and auditability of predictive models.
  • Author and update data quality management protocols, including procedures for data validation, version control, and retention.
  • Support compliance with local data privacy laws and relevant industry standards.
  • Facilitate internal training and awareness sessions to embed data governance and ethical AI practices in daily operations.
  • Review and recommend improvements to the companys data infrastructure and processes to align with policy standards.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for management and audit teams regarding data governance adherence and improvement areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least 58 years of experience in data science, analytics, or data governance, preferably in enterprise or technology-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing or implementing data governance, analytics, or model management policies.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, machine learning lifecycle, and regulatory frameworks related to data use.
  • Excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills and is able to translate technical concepts into clear, business-relevant policy language.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including IT, Legal, Compliance, and Product.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in real estate, financial services, or large-scale enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, BI).
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and AI ethics principles.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data cataloging tools.
  • Understanding of audit requirements related to data and analytics.
  • Ability to drive alignment across technical and business teams through structured documentation and communication.
