The Shift Engineer is responsible for managing day-to-day engineering operations during assigned shifts, ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and reliability of hotel facilities, utilities, and equipment. The role leads and supports the engineering team in responding to operational requirements, guest concerns, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities to maintain excellent hotel service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of engineering staff and external contractors during assigned shifts.
- Monitor hotel facilities, utilities, and equipment to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of engineering areas and ensure all systems are operating within acceptable parameters.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks and ensure maintenance schedules are properly implemented.
- Attend to guest requests, engineering concerns, and operational issues to minimize service interruptions.
- Deploy and guide technicians in troubleshooting, repairs, and resolution of equipment or utility concerns.
- Prepare shift turnover reports, incident reports, repair reports, and daily engineering activity logs.
- Maintain accurate monitoring records, including equipment readings, temperature logs, and operational data.
- Ensure proper inventory and availability of tools, materials, and engineering equipment per shift.
- Assist in preparing engineering plans, material estimates, and purchase requests when needed.
- Recommend improvements, modifications, and solutions to enhance facility operations and efficiency.
- Support energy conservation initiatives by monitoring utility usage and implementing energy-saving practices.
- Coordinate with other hotel departments to address engineering-related requirements and maintain guest satisfaction.
Job Qualifications
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or with equivalent technical experience.
- With 1–3 years of experience in hotel engineering, project/contractor management, or equipment maintenance.
- Experience in supervising technicians, contractors, and maintenance activities.
- Knowledgeable in building facilities, utilities, and preventive maintenance operations.
- Basic knowledge in AutoCAD and reading technical drawings.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work well with different teams.
- Willingness to work in Muntinlupa City.
