Job Summary

The Corporate Planning Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of the company’s corporate strategies, ensuring alignment with evolving market dynamics and regulatory requirements. This role drives strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational resilience, long-term growth, and profitability. The manager also oversees internal and external corporate performance reporting, providing actionable insights to support executive decision-making. Additionally, the role includes supervising the preparation of business cases and conducting due diligence for strategic projects, with recommendations grounded in comprehensive research, technical assessments, and financial analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Corporate Planning and Strategy Development (40%)

· Lead the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the company’s long-term corporate strategies and annual business plans.

· Align departmental goals and initiatives with overall corporate objectives.

· Sets the direction for the annual strategic planning process and leads the consolidation of Key Result Areas (KRAs) across departments, aligning with the BU’s objectives.

 

Strategic Research and Analysis (40%)

· Analyze market and industry trends and identify opportunities and risks.

· Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making and business continuity.

· Identifying areas in the industry with the highest impact on the BU and directing the team’s focus toward these critical points.

 

Conglomerate Coordination (20%)

· Ensure the business unit (BU) meets the reporting, compliance, and strategic requirements of the conglomerate.

· Represent the BU in engagements with the conglomerate on corporate planning, performance updates, and strategic initiatives. 

Technical Competencies and Skills

• Good understanding of the power industry and factors affecting the industry performance, • Adept at economic and financial analysis of power generation projects, • Knowledgeable in review of project financing and modelling of energy projects, • Ability to source and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data, Strong organizational facilitation, Effective Communication skills, Ability to influence others, Excellent analytic and problem solving skills, Advance excel skill which include data analysis, knowledge on power BI an advantage, Independent worker, driven and results oriented, Pays keen attention to detail, Can perform under pressure, Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken

Education, Trainings and Licenses Required

Graduate of business course, Management, Finance, accountancy, Business administration, Public administration, urban and regional planning, engineering, Postgraduate degree an advantage, At least 5 years supervisory experience in Energy Industry/ Utility company, At least 3 years experience in Corporate Planning and strategy, At least 3 years experience with Performance Management systems
