- Citizenship Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Clearance Requirements: Top Secret (TS/SCI) security clearance and DCID 6/4 eligibility
- with a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Secret clearance is acceptable, but must be eligible for a T5 [Top Secret] with SCI eligibility.
- Period of Performance: 01 June 2026 – 31 May 2030
- Type of Employment: Full-Time – 40 hours per week.
- Estimated Pay: $34.23 per hour.
- Travel: No travel is required.
Summary of Duties
Contracting Support – Basic shall provide professional federal contracting support services at Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) in collaboration with Acquisition Management Integration Center (AMIC) contracting officers. Services include acquisition planning, market research, acquisition strategy development, and the development of acquisition and contract documents.
Working Hours
Contracting Support – Basic core working hours are from 09:00 AM to 3:00 PM, arriving no earlier than 7:00 AM and departing no later than 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday except Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government-directed facility closings.
Individuals may be designated as essential personnel to support contingency operations at alternate Government locations during actual emergencies and emergency exercises. For work performed at sites other than the Government site, the individual personnel must provide services from their authorized telework worksite location in accordance with Department of War and Air Force policy and directives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree containing an appropriate focus on business disciplines (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Economics, Public Administration, Managerial Administration, etc.).
- Three (3) years of experience as a Contracting Specialist (No warrants required)
- Must have served as a contracting specialist in a federal government organization.
- Experience with Wide Area Workflow (WAWF); Contract Closeout Module
- Records Application Management (RMA) or similar federal Government procurement applications.
- All employees must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS)
- Past experience with government contract writing/filing systems.
- Must possess a Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II certification

- Back to Basics Contracting Professional certification or equivalent
- Must be proficient in:

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide cradle-to-grave contracting support that includes receipt of requirements documents in hard copy and/or through automated systems and will execute pre- and post-award contract administration to include collaboration with contracting officers, contracting officer representatives, program managers, security personnel, budget analysts, resource advisors, and engineers.
- Be responsible for contract closeout at the appropriate time in the contract lifecycle and will comply with the identified government contract closeout goals.
- Task execution may take the form of information, advice, opinions, alternatives, analyses, evaluations, training, processes to eliminate waste, standardize best practices, cycle time, and business cost reduction, or recommendations to complement the governments technical expertise in accomplishing its mission.
- The nature of this work will, at times, require the contractor to respond quickly to stringent deadlines. The contractor shall provide a workforce possessing the skills, knowledge, and training to satisfactorily perform the services required under this contract.
- Services also include cost/price analysis, preparation of determinations and justifications, synopsis, solicitations, and price negotiation memoranda.
- Provide assistance with and document proposal evaluations and will receive AFTAC technical evaluations, as well as contractor-submitted technical/cost proposals for review and use in the contract formation process.
- Execute contract administration duties, maintain contract writing, filing, and tracking systems/tools, and accurately document, file (including electronic filing), and maintain contract documents.
- Develop and adhere to acquisition milestones.
