Citizenship / Access Requirements: Must satisfy all VA suitability, credentialing, privileging, onboarding, identity-verification, training, and facility-access requirements applicable to the position.
Security Requirements: No classified clearance is specified. The position is designated Low Risk and requires a favorable background check to begin work, with NACI initiation or adjudication and all applicable VA access requirements.
Number of FTEs: 1.0 FTE on-site, defined as at least 80 hours every two weeks, plus on-call coverage.
Type of Employment: Full-Time.
Estimated Total Compensation: $171.54 per hour.
Working Hours: On-site Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding federal holidays. On-call coverage is required on weekdays from 4:30 PM to midnight and on weekends and holidays from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with telephone consultation and emergency call-in as needed.
Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site at Syracuse VA Medical Center. Off-hours telephone consultation is required, and limited remote system access for documentation may be approved by the VA on a case-by-case basis.
Period of Performance: November 1, 2026 through October 31, 2031, if all option periods are exercised, with a possible extension of up to six months under FAR 52.217-8.

Summary of Services
The Interventional Radiologist Physician will provide on-site and on-call interventional radiology services for Syracuse VA Medical Center beneficiaries. The physician will perform procedures, consultations, pre- and post-procedure care, documentation, patient education, quality activities, and required call coverage in accordance with VA and American College of Radiology standards.
Mandatory Qualifications
Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted New York State medical license.
Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Must successfully complete Syracuse VA Medical Center credentialing and privileging before providing patient care.
Must maintain current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications as required.
Must maintain current continuing medical education, an active National Provider Identifier, and Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
Must demonstrate technical proficiency, professional competence, and English-language fluency appropriate for the assignment.
Must satisfy VA occupational-health, mandatory-training, privacy, information-security, background, and suitability requirements.
Must be able to provide the required on-site schedule, on-call coverage, and emergency call-in response.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide on-site and on-call interventional radiology physician services that meet or exceed applicable American College of Radiology standards.
Perform angiography, angioplasty, stenting, embolization, biopsies, central-line placement, drainage procedures, and dialysis-access interventions within granted privileges.
Perform IVC filter placement, lumbar puncture, myelography, paracentesis, gastrostomy, thoracentesis, vertebroplasty, and related procedures within granted privileges.
Conduct patient consultations, clinical evaluations, informed-consent discussions, and pre-procedure assessments.
Provide post-procedure care, follow-up, complication management, and coordination with referring and supporting clinical services.
Complete accurate and timely medical-record documentation, procedure notes, orders, reports, and required quality records.
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, risks, aftercare, and follow-up requirements.
Provide weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage, including telephone consultation and emergency on-site response when needed.
Participate in peer review, quality-management, patient-safety, medical-staff, and committee activities as required.
Attend required meetings, orientations, training sessions, and clinical conferences.
Coordinate professionally with VA physicians, nurses, technologists, support staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
Follow all VA clinical, privacy, information-security, infection-control, radiation-safety, and workplace requirements.
Maintain all licenses, certifications, registrations, credentials, and privileges required for performance.
Required Candidate Submission Documents
Current curriculum vitae or resume documenting interventional radiology education, training, and experience.
Copies of New York medical license, board certification, BLS and ACLS certifications, DEA registration, NPI information, and other requested credentials.
Any credentialing, privileging, malpractice-history, insurance, background, security, and onboarding documents requested by Fidelity Partners or the Government/client.
