Position Details

  • Citizenship Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Clearance Requirements: Unclassified position. Must satisfy TIER II/non-critical sensitive background investigation/suitability requirements and CAC/network access requirements, as applicable.
  • Type of Employment: Full-Time
  • Positions Available: 1 FTE
  • Period of Performance: Base Period: September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027, with potential option periods.
  • Estimate Pay: $43.04 per hour
  • Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Paid Federal Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Federal Holidays

Working Hours

Working hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays and authorized Federal facility closures. Working hours are subject to change at the base's discretion. Occasional after-hours support may be required for contingency operations, exercises, or other mission requirements.

Summary of Duties

The Producer and Director will provide full-lifecycle professional video production and multimedia support for Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The position will lead video projects from concept and pre-production through filming, directing, audio, lighting, editing, motion graphics, color grading, post-production, review, and final approval. The Producer and Director will develop strategic visual stories aligned with organizational communications objectives while managing production schedules, projects, equipment, and stakeholder requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Video Production, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional video production experience.
  • Professional showreel or portfolio demonstrating relevant production capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro.
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects, motion graphics, and color grading.
  • Expertise with professional cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and production workflows.
  • Experience in healthcare communications, military public affairs, or a comparable environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA/PHI requirements.
  • Demonstrated project-management capabilities.
  • Strong storytelling, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage video content calendars.
  • Manage video projects from pre-production through final delivery.
  • Plan and coordinate video shoots.
  • Film and direct professional video productions.
  • Configure and operate camera, audio, and lighting equipment.
  • Edit video and audio content.
  • Develop motion graphics and related multimedia elements.
  • Perform or coordinate color grading and post-production.
  • Develop strategic visual stories supporting organizational communications objectives.
  • Manage video-production equipment and equipment lifecycle requirements.
  • Coordinate reviews, revisions, clearances, and approvals.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare privacy and information-protection requirements.
