  • Clearance Requirements: Tier 3 Background Investigation National Agency Check with Law and Credit Check and fingerprints. (Standard Form 86).
  • Type of Employment: 40 hours per week.
  • Period of Performance: 10 March 2025 28 May 2027.
  • Paid Time Off per Year: 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Sick Leave per Year: 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Paid Federal Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Federal Holidays
  • Travel: Travel is authorized
  • Estimate Pay: $70,000 - $75,000 per year (Negotiable)

Working Hours

Work will be scheduled normally from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, there may be times when the employees must work after duty hours or on weekends in support of specific tasks. Although the schedule may have to be flexible, it will not exceed 40 hours per week. Temporary alternate work locations may be assigned as circumstances dictate.

Summary of Duties:

The Strategic Public Relations Lead will provide Air & Space Biosciences Division with Public Relations support to include developing Division professional conferences/events, managing Division All Calls (Commander's Call) and morale events, sending executive messaging, and managing the Division strategic/operational calendar.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in a science/technology/engineering/mathematics (STEM) discipline, communications, or journalism
  • At least three (3) years work experience in one of those fields or seven (7) years equivalent experience with no degree.
  • Possess excellent organizational, management, and communication skills, including writing ability.
  • Be proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Possess documented experience in planning and hosting large events.
  • Possess documented experience in public speaking and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Be proficient at quickly understanding complex topics, then communicating to visitors in terms understandable to them.
  • Possess strong attention-to-detail and strong technical writing skill.
  • Be proficient at speaking in front of large groups.
  • Possess the ability to lead/facilitate conversations and answer questions.
  • Possess the ability to work independently under time constraints.
  • Possess a professional appearance (i.e., business attire and grooming).

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Background in Public Affairs or Public Relations professions.
  • Experience in project management and planning and operations.
  • Experience working with the Military/Government (DoD).
  • Medical Science research background preferred.
  • Process a current DoD Security Clearance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and conduct tours of 711th Human Performance Wing/Air & Space Biosciences Division (RHB) facilities and RHB-hosted events while maintaining a professional appearance (i.e. business attire and grooming).
  • Assist with scheduling Division level events such as All Calls and morale events, sending executive messaging, and managing the Division strategic/operational calendar.
  • Shall communicate to division leadership on which offices and subject matter experts are necessary, based on the tour request.
  • Shall ensure that the tasker system is tracking the tour/event and pertinent details.
  • Shall support development of professional materials including slides, brochures, videos, and other advertising materials to highlight the mission for visitors.
  • Shall handle necessary logistical matters to including providing maps and instructions to guide visitors to division facilities.
  • Shall track tour data and report back to division leadership at least quarterly.
  • Shall ensure that tour members are properly vetted through security processes to avoid inappropriate disclosure of technical information.
  • Shall ensure all materials and tour stops are approved from a security standpoint for tour visitors.
  • Shall support additional duties as needed for tours of 711th HPW/RHB facilities and RHB-hosted events.
