  • Estimate Pay: $70,000 - $75,000 per year (Negotiable)
  • Type of Employment: 40 hours per week.
  • Period of Performance: 31 March 2025 30 March 2027.
  • Paid Time Off per Year: 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Sick Leave per Year: 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Paid Federal Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Federal Holidays
  • Travel: Travel is authorized

Working Hours:
Work will be scheduled Senior Research Coordinator will normally be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, there may be times when the employees must work after duty hours or on weekends in support of specific tasks. Although the schedule may have to be flexible, it will not exceed 40 hours per week. Temporary alternate work locations may be assigned as circumstances dictate.

Summary of Duties:

The Senior Research Coordinator will be responsible for providing operational research support by assisting USAF principal investigators to design, monitor, and collect accurate data from human performance studies, analyses, and research.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum of a Master of Science degree related to a social science and/or research-focused field.
  • Have at least five (5) years of experience in operational research and evaluation in the area of human performance research.
  • Have expertise in human performance research and shall be able to support the design and implementation of psychological and physiological performance enhancement interventions. No specific expertise in psychology is needed.
  • However, the demonstrated ability to learn and implement a standard research protocol, with minor on-the-spot modifications is necessary.
  • Have demonstrated experience in technical writing and communication.
  • Have expert knowledge of Federal and Department of Defense regulations and Air Force Institutional Review Board (IRB) policy related to human use research.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support design and implementation of psychological and physiological performance enhancement interventions by using expert skills in human performance research.
  • Prepare and maintain test results, technical information, reports, and briefings on progress, and provide evaluation, analysis, and recommendations for ongoing and proposed human performance research.
  • Use organizational skillsets necessary to obtain and manage research data from multiple sources, including electronic data and cloud-based interfaces, in coordination with the chief data scientist.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks associated with research: obtain and maintain applicable IRB, HRPO, IACUC, IBC, MOU, and data sharing agreements.
    • To include providing audit trials to assure protocol compliance; identify problems and/or inconsistencies and monitor subjects progress.
  • Use experience in seeking publication or has been published in peer-reviewed human performance-related and/or medical journals.
  • Perform and complete assignments involving work with diverse and dynamic groups.
  • Establish and maintain a constant and effective working relationship within the division, the directorate, 711 HPW, MAJCOMs, Air Staff, academia, business, and industry customers, partners and stakeholders for coordination, support and changes to the scope of assigned work.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with principal investigators, program managers, researchers, and support staff involved in the acquisition of medical systems and conduct of human performance research.
  • Perform work in a high capacity for working autonomously and performing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Provide essential research support to execute the data management strategy and human subject participation in accordance with the approved IRB protocol.
  • Continually assess and report progress toward accomplishment of these efforts.
