Main tasks:

  • Coordinate with the Central MDM team on the design and implementation of the Master Data Governance (MDG) operating model, strategy, and architecture.
  • Support MDG project activities in a hands-on functional role, including requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, system configuration, and testing.
  • Distribute and coordinate MDM-related tasks within other functional IT teams, ensuring timely execution with the expected quality.
  • Regularly update on MDM project progress, align on decisions, and propose solutions.
  • Actively contribute to MDG solution development by engaging with stakeholders (functional leads, IT, MDM, etc.) to discuss various options.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, review process designs, assess MDM change requests, and define specifications for MDG development requirements if needed.
  • Coordinate MDM-related issues such as data migration, harmonization, and integration from an IT perspective, ensuring adherence to global templates.
  • Track the progress of MDM deliverables, follow up on decisions, and escalate issues when necessary.

Your qualifications:

  • Several years of professional experience in SAP master data management or a consulting environment.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of end-to-end master data management and architecture, including downstream process control.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and designing and implementing data strategies.
  • Experience in designing and configuring SAP business partner and product master data processes.
  • Practical experience with SAP data management tools (e.g., SAP MDG, SAP Data Services, Migration Cockpit, LSMW), and optionally, other leading data management tools.
  • Advanced SQL and SQL script skills, with basic ABAP programming and debugging knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of data modeling and data architecture, ideally in a data warehousing environment.
  • Cross-functional knowledge in areas such as controlling, production, logistics, and marketing is a plus.
  • Practical experience in planning, implementing, and managing data management projects.
  • Ability to validate the feasibility of potential migration strategies based on data objects and conduct data validation.
  • Strong communication, consulting, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to work in an agile, result-oriented manner.
  • A team player with a proactive attitude and ownership mindset.
  • Fluent in business English and German.
